Update: April 28, 2009 - Milton gets it all: His surgery and a forever home!
Milton has won over so many hearts - enough to rescue him from all his challenges. Thanks to the help and donations of many, Milton will be getting his heart surgery this week and will be moving to his new forever home shortly afterward. A generous family has adopted Milton and has paid all the remaining medical expenses. They had him for a sleep over and fell in love, as anyone would with him, so soon he will be moving in with his new family in a wonderful home in Beverly Hills. Good luck Milton! Thanks to all who helped Milton. As his foster dad, I can say, no dog deserved it more. He is special and I will miss him. Thank you all.
Update: Feb. 6, 2009
Milton has been to the heart specialist and has been diagnosed with a genetic defect in a heart valve. It has caused his heart to enlarge dangerously. Luckily, he can be saved through surgery and medication. He is already on the medication. The surgery will cost $2000 with our discount from the vet. We are currently collecting what we can to pay for it. We will get him fixed, it's just a matter of time. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Help Milton get his heart fixed Jan. 23rd, 2009
This
is our new addition, Milton. We rescued him from the pound where he
was destined for death row. He is irresistible. Extremely cute in
appearance and behavior. He was quite sick when we got him a week ago.
He is very happy and bouncy now. The problem is he has an enlarged
heart. It may be treatable through surgery or medication. This may be
very expensive, but we can't even find out yet since we don't have
funds to pay for a cardiologist to examine him.
The rescue has spent tens of thousands in recent months to treat
damaged dogs. Now we are tapped out. We are trying not to take new dogs
until we can get all current cases resolved, but as you can see here,
some will break right into even my cold crusty heart. If anyone would
like to contribute to his treatment mark your donation "For Milton's
heart". Thanks, Glenn
